The scholarship is managed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and aims to improve educational opportunities for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Labourers, and Traditional Artisan categories.
