The Digital India Internship Scheme 2026 has officially opened for registrations, offering a golden opportunity for students across India to gain hands-on experience in government projects. Launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), this internship aims to provide real-world exposure to students in technology, management, and engineering fields.

What is This Digital India Internship About?
The Digital India Internship is organised by NIC (National Informatics Centre) under MeitY (Ministry of Electronics & IT). Every year, they invite students to work at NIC centres across India. You get hands-on experience in modern technology, a monthly stipend, and a certificate. Plus, you get to work with senior government officers and scientists.
For Summer 2026, the focus is on 8 main technology areas. Unlike last year, they have removed topics like IoT and UI/UX. Now only these eight are available:
Blockchain
AR/VR (Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality)
Cyber Security
Micro Services
Mobile Computing
Cloud Computing
Data Analytics
AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning)
So, when you apply, you must pick one of these eight areas.
