QUESTION PATTERN

  • The Olympiad Examinations are based on the internationally harmonized syllabus for each subject. Questions in the examinations are mainly based on the school syllabus of the student. For the benefit of the students, WOA has provided detailed syllabi for each standard and we recommend looking into the syllabus before appearing in the exams.

  • All the examinations will be based on the objective type questions. There is no negative marking for any wrong answer.

World Mathematics Olympiad (WMO)

1. Integers
Integers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers, integers on the number line


2. Fractions and Decimals
Fractions, multiplication and division of fractions, decimals, multiplication and division of decimals, conversion of a fraction to a decimal and vice versa


3. Data Management
Collection of data, organization of data, representative values, arithmetic mean, median and mode, use of bar graphs with a different purpose, introduction to probability


4. Simple Equations
Making an equation, solution to an equation, simple equations in practical life 


5 Lines and Angles
Line, line segment, pair of lines, parallel lines, perpendicular line, angle, types of angles, right and straight angles, acute, obtuse, and reflex angles


6. Triangle and Congruence
Types of triangles, exterior angle of a triangle and its property, angle sum property for a triangle, equilateral and isosceles triangles, right-angled triangles and Pythagoras property, congruence of plane figures, congruence among line segments, angles, and triangles


7. Percentage
Equivalent ratios, percentage, use of percentages, profit and loss, simple interest


8. Rational Numbers
Rational numbers, positive and negative rational numbers, rational numbers on a number line, comparison of rational numbers finding rational numbers between two rational numbers, addition subtraction of rational numbers


9. Perimeter, Area, and Volume
Area and perimeter of squares and rectangles, triangle, parallelogram and circles, conversion of units, faces, edges, and vertices, different sections of a solid


10. Algebra

Terms of an expression, line and unlike terms, monomials, binomials, trinomials, and polynomials, operations (addition and subtraction) of algebraic expressions, finding an expression, use of algebraic expressions - formulas and basic rules
 

11 . Exponents and Power
Exponents, laws of exponents, decimal number system, expressing large numbers in the standard form


12. Symmetry
Lines of symmetry (single and multiple) for regular shapes, reflection and symmetry, rotational symmetry


13. Logical Reasoning
Logical reasoning and critical thinking, sequencing of patterns and numbers

1. Grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, writing skill, writing paragraphs based on the given
picture, questions from a given paragraph, questions related to daily life, etc.

World Cyber Olympiad (WCO)

1. Software and Hardware

Basic and advanced knowledge about the software used in day-to-day life such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentations, Publishers, Excel, Images, etc. knowledge about various features of these softwares. Basic and advanced knowledge about computer hardware such as RAM, ROM, Motherboard, cooling system, power units, etc.

 

2. Computer Viruses

Definition and examples, boot sector and program file viruses, harms and symptoms, Antivirus definition and example, forms of virus attacks, ways to prevent virus attacks

 

3. Number System

Need for number systems and examples of various number systems (decimal, binary, octal, and hexadecimal number system), digits and bases of different number systems, conversion of numbers in different number systems to decimal number system and vice versa

 

4. HTML and Photoshop

Text alignment, font tags, paragraph formatting tags, list tags, order and unordered lists, background colour and images, inserting images in webpages and its alignment, table creation, anchor tag, and hyperlink, DTP and its software, installing and starting Photoshop, creating and saving a new file, Photoshop tools, basics of layers, rearranging layers, applying a Layer Style and Flattening and saving files

5. Introduction to Multimedia

Component of Multimedia (Text, Sound (Audio), Images, Animation, Video), Requirement for Multimedia: Hardware requirements (Input Devices, Output Devices, Storage Devices) and software requirements, File Formats for Multimedia: Text Formats, Image Formats, Digital Audio File Formats, Digital Video File Formats, Multimedia Presentation: Types of Multimedia Presentation (Virtual, Slide Presentation, Web Pages), Applications of Multimedia: Education, Business Systems, Medical Services, Entertainment, Public Places, Multimedia Conferencing

 

6. Network and Internet
